Hello, my name is Charlotte and I am a Mathematics tutor. I have a Maths Degree from the University of Edinburgh and 4+ years experience in tutoring. I have experience tutoring the Scottish National 5 and Higher qualifications, as well as GCSE and A-Level. My favourite thing about tutoring is when my students become more confident in themselves and their abilities in Maths and successfully meet their academic goals!

I have been a Mathematics tutor alongside my time at university, my graduate job, whilst travelling and now as my main occupation. I have primarily tutored the Scottish curriculum but can also tutor GSCE and A-Level Maths. One of my recent students went from having no confidence in maths and failing her preliminary exams to walking out of her final Higher Maths exam confident in her abilities and successfully obtaining a B.

I love to travel when I can and spent most of 2024 exploring (and eating my way around) South East Asia, East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. In my spare time I like to go to nice coffee shops and bakeries, spend time with my loved ones, and go for nice walks. I also enjoy doing puzzles and try to do the New York Times Games everyday.
Extremely professional
Delivery, 1:1 coaching, group coaching
I had the pleasure of working with Charlotte during the 13 months she participated in a Level 3 Data Literacy apprenticeship. Throughout this time, Charlotte has significantly elevated her knowledge and skills in data, including mastering Excel and Power BI, as well as a variety of other topics. She has enhanced her ability to give and receive feedback in a constructive and kind manner, utilizing various coaching models. Charlotte has learned about important concepts such as the principles of accessible design, which aid in creating presentations and learning materials that are inclusive of diverse needs (including considerations for people with different learning styles, colour blindness, and neurodiversity). She has also grasped the pyramid principle of communication, mastering how to engage both small and large audiences by capturing their attention and tailoring content to their knowledge level, job roles, and relevant topics. As a coach/tutor, I recognize that these skills are essential for any future tutor/coach/teacher and this is why I feel confident providing this reference on her behalf. I have witnessed first-hand the logical, kind, and constructive way Charlotte communicates information, and I truly believe that her future students would be lucky to have her. Her politeness and understanding are also essential qualities when working with learners. Lastly, I would like to emphasize that during her time here, Charlotte has faced many obstacles due to the nature of her role meeting the requirements of her apprenticeship (so due to no fault of her own). Throughout these challenges, I saw a dedicated individual who approached each problem with maturity and independence. I genuinely believe that you would be fortunate to have her as your tutor. I remain available for any further questions or requests. Thank you.

Higher Level maths delivered online over 3 semesters
Charlotte is a lovely kind patient and engaging person who was introduced to me through her cousin. My grand daughter who was in 5th year had started her higher maths course and was struggling with the speed of delivery at classroom level as well as dealing with the complexities of the advanced learning as well. Her first test results in the October were around the 30% mark. Charlotte began to tutor her online once a week till Xmas then twice a week till the exam. She also offered to mark any work completed between sessions. My grand daughter grew in confidence and competence obtaining a B in her higher. This would never have happened without Charlotte. I would not hesitate to recommend Charlotte as a tutor for any young student. Thank you Charlotte
