Hey, I am Jasmine, a 22-year-old Medical Student. I am in my fourth year at medical school and am currently intercalating. I have tutored for the past 6 years in Maths, Chemistry, Biology, and English in addition to UKCAT, medical school interviews and personal statement preparation. I am a friendly and approachable individual and love to share my knowledge and tips to aid my students' successes - 100% of my students have gotten into their top 2 medical schools. In my spare time, I love to be outdoors either rowing, running or walking and I love to cook.
I am on the interview panel for Cardiff University Medical School
Superprof
Academic Tutor and Medical School Application Preparation
Mar 2020 - Jan 2023|United Kingdom
Through the website Superprof I was approached by parents and students to tutor them on a range of areas. I have tutored A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Geography, GCSE Maths, English and all sciences, in addition to UKCAT and BMAT preparation. I have helped students with their personal statements in addition to specific topics requested by my tutees such as holistic medicine, genetics and gynaecological emergency teaching.
Self-Employed
Private Academic Tutor
Jan 2016 - Jan 2023|United Kingdom
I have tutored children for their 11+ exams focusing on Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning skills, Mathematics and English. I would create my own questions based upon the student's skill sets and abilities before working up to completing past paper questions. In addition to preparing for the exams, I also tried to help the students develop their skills so they were best prepared for secondary school and would be able to excel well above the expected level required of them.
Brighton College
Teacher of Maths Club
Sep 2017 - Sep 2018|United Kingdom
I ran the maths club which was an extracurricular club for students (years 7-11) who wanted to push their mathematic ability outside of the school curriculum. I planned difficult mathematics puzzles that required skills above the curriculum level and helped to teach the students these important and challenging skills in an engaging manner.
I have a huge interest in science hence my reasoning to pursue a career in Medicine. I have loved my emergency medicine placement block, Paediatric A+E, Oncology and Surgery block and I am currently intercalating in Psychology and Medicine.
Outside of academia, I am a very active and outdoorsy person. I love to row, run and go on mountain walks. I am a keen swimmer and I love to cook and bake. I used to play the guitar, piano and tenor horn. I love animals and have spent many years volunteering at the Cats Protection Centre.
