I was a teacher of English who also, as Deputy leader of Department between 2010-2017, had several key areas of focus including, Literacy intervention lessons for students in Key Stage 3; developing units of work for whole department teaching and Leading the curriculum for A Level Language and Literature.

I was a Secondary English teacher and later became the second in charge of the department. My focus was working on making student resources and leading intervention and literacy for students.

Last year I had the honour of working with a year 13 class who had been badly affected by the Pandemic - they were behind with their coursework and content study and felt very under confident. Through a series of 1:1 tuition sessions, group classes and revision focus groups each of them achieved at least one grade over their target grade.
