A Level Physics, Maths & Science + KS4 and KS3.
I am the Head of Physics at an oversubscribed outstanding school in Essex and have taught KS3, KS4 and KS5 extensively in sought after schools in Upminster and Billericay since 2010. A specialist Physics teacher I have an expertise in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Computer Science, Law and Engineering. My previous experience has been in Engineering and Management Training. I have also successfully tutored students at all levels including the 11 Plus examination for CSSE and Chelmsford Grammar schools. I aim to encourage students in all areas of their development and my primary role will be to support the classroom teaching that they are receiving.
I am in the process of developing several subject websites and iOS apps that my students will be able to use to assist their studies and I am also available to offer support as an when required. E.g. where a student is stuck on a topic whilst doing homework or during school holidays I am able to provide short notice support via email.
I build and configure personal computers and working with Unreal Engine 5 to make educational VR apps for students who don't have access to in class practicals.

Stewart has been teaching my daughter with autism since October 2020. She started off with 3 tutors helping her with GCSE maths, biology, chemistry and physics. After a while we dropped the other 2 tutors and soley used Stewart to focus on Alevel maths and psychology. We chose him because he was reliable, punctual and versatile. He is incredibly knowledgeable in many subjects, and generally a very smart guy.
Stewart also teach our son, he too is autistic with complex needs. Although in mainstream school, he has a full time 1:1 TA. Stewart is the only tutor that my son will work with online. Stewart is so patient with him despite my son’s angry out bursts. He also teaches in a way that nobody else does by tailoring different methods of teaching to both my very different kids.

I have personally recommended Stewart as a tutor to many parents and have always received excellent feedback on how well their child has gone on to do in their exams, and how much confidence they have gained in their ability and understanding.
Stewart has been intrinsic in supporting students to achieve their target grades in both GCSE and A level. He has excellent subject knowledge, is patient and fun.
I highly recommend Stewart as a tutor.

Hi Stewart.
Just wanted to drop you a line to say a big thank you for your superb tutoring these last few months. I know that it's made a difference to Oliver. I have recommended you to a couple of parents who were seeking GCSE physics support in case you were interested......

Hi Stewart
Thanks so much for all the help you’ve given Eibhlinn with her maths, she is so much more confident. She said you’re an amazing maths teacher, and explain things to her in ways that she understands when no one else can.
Shon was failing his A Level Physics in his Y12 mock but his ambition was to become an aerospace engineer and he needed to get a good grade in his A Level Physics.
We began by analysing his strengths and and weaknesses and highlighted areas where he was less confident. We then set out a plan to push his grades up starting off with discussions about the topics where he needed help most. We then set short term, medium term and long term goals with checkpoints to assess where we were.
As our lessons progressed Shon's confidence grew and eventually he became more and more independent as a learner. For example in our early lessons I was doing the prompting and encouraging but later he was asking questions about work he was undertaking independently.
By the time the exam came around we were confident he would succeed and he eventually gained a 'B' grade. This allowed him to enter his University course and he is now a successful engineer working for BAE Systems.
A* Needed for Oxford
Andrew was a student who had ambitions of studying Physics at Oxford university and was keen to get an A* in physics where his target grade was a B.
He was a hard worker and knew the committment needed to achieve his aim. In addition to his A Level he also needed to score well in his PAT (Physics Aptitude Test). We had weekly sessions where he brought me material that he was struggling with and due to my physics expertise I was able to explain it in a way that he could understand. We also set up mentoring sessions with Isaac Physics who had physics and maths professors who would help out and set weekly and monthly tasks for aspiring OxBridge students.
In this case he gained an A* in Physics, did well in his PAT and successfully gained a place at Oxford.
SEND A Level Maths
I was fortunate enough to tutor Ellie a student with complex special needs including Autism. I started with her at GCSE level and she gained a 7 which allowed her to access the A Level at her school.
I supplemented her classroom lessons but due to her needs she often missed months of school and tutoring at a time. When she recovered we would go iver the missing topics and redo the topics she had forgotten.
Over the time we progressed and her confidence grew but all through we would get to a stage and then she would be struck down by illness and we would have to take a step back to reassess our position. Through patience and perseverence she sat the exam in 2023 and gained a D where she had scored U's on all of her mock exams in school.
She has been allowed to resit the exam this year and apart from a month in February we have had a good run and I am confident that her grade will improve this time around. I will update this case study when the results are published.
